Newcastle City Choir Concert

An Afternoon of International Song was held Sunday 15 September at Adamstown Uniting Church

Newcastle City Choir Inc under the experienced and transforming baton of Leanne Sampson presented songs from their new repertoire. Captivating and beautiful harmonies from composers as diverse as Verdi and Byrd, Saint-Saens and Bortinianski, Dvorak and Mozart.

Newcastle City Choir was established in 1954 and has an unbroken history of performances. Our community activities include monthly concerts at care facilities, fund-raising and participation in civic ceremonies. We present one major concert each year as well as Christmas events. Musical Director Leanne Sampson brings huge overseas experience as conductor and artistic director to choirs in France in addition to being an accomplished accompanist, teacher of piano and vocal coach. She has a vast knowledge of the classical choral repertoire and is a talented singer who is able to give the pitch to all voice types. Accompanist Bronwyn MacRitchie has wide ranging experience in Australia as accompanist for choirs, instrumentalists, eisteddfods and examinations. Our weekly rehearsals are challenging and fun. If you love to sing, join us in open rehearsal followed by supper the first Wednesday night of each month.
